The Burnett Butterworth Library at the Museum is named after a local historian and contains over 700 books from the original lending library of the Miami Monthly Meeting (Quakers). Many books date from the early 1800s and can be examined in the library only, not borrowed.
In addition to these books, the library contains family histories of early residents, journals, Quaker files, organization records and building history details. The collection houses family genealogies, photos, cemetery listings, and other research tools.
The library is open to the public during regular Museum hours Saturday and Wednesday from 1-5 p.m. or by appointment. Research services can be performed by Museum personnel and copies made for a nominal fee.
